A Sororal Order · Portland, OR
Countercurse
Feeling disenchanted? Break the spell.
A community for anyone interested in exploring gender equality through immersive experiences.
A glimpse through the keyhole. These images are clues to the world we're creating, not the final reveal. Countercurse is still taking shape.
The Order
A community for people who see.
Concept ImageThere is an imbalance in the room. Everyone feels it. No one wants to say it aloud.
Countercurse turns that feeling into a night out.
We're a community forming in Portland, open to people of all genders who share a commitment to gender equality. Membership is free, and you don't have to be a member to attend our immersive experiences.
We call ourselves a sororal order — a reimagining of the traditional fraternal order. For centuries, fraternal orders gave powerful men rooms where influence moved quietly. Our sororal order creates a different kind of room, built around equity and mutual support.
We're beginning with The Pink Flamingo, an immersive experience set in a 1950s jazz club, where buried truths surface and guests shift gender hierarchy together. As the order grows, we plan to expand into free community events focused on gender equality.
Come for the show. Help shape what comes next.
The Emblem
Our emblem is a cherry tree breaking through dark clouds. Each blossom represents an act of courage or solidarity, while the clouds obscure these acts. The more blossoms the tree has, the easier it is to break through.

Our Mission
Shaping the invisible.
Countercurse exists to manifest gender equality.
We bring people of all genders together to overcome gender hierarchies and shift the balance of power.
One way we do this is through immersive entertainment, beginning with The Pink Flamingo. Hidden truths become physical, and guests feel that shift together. A crack in an old enchantment.
As the order takes shape, Countercurse will also host community events and gatherings where people can connect, support one another, and take action for gender equality.

Our Commitment
We stand with you.
Countercurse supports all women in pursuit of equity. We welcome allies and those learning to become allies. We recognize women's experiences are shaped by intersecting identities. While we focus on gender equity, we stand with all marginalized groups seeking equity in a world that defines value along the lines of gender, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, age, species and socioeconomic status.
